Rules & Regulations

  • SECTION 1 – MATCH & PITCH

    1. All matches will be played to the laws and by-laws of association football, with the exception as below.

    2. No offside law will apply in these leagues – this means there can be no last man ruling.

    3. All matches must be played according to the referee’s interpretation of the rules of the league. The referee’s ruling is final.

    4. The referee has the right to cancel or void any game when and if he feels the league rules & regulation are being broken. This includes any signs of match fixing, unfair player, unsporting behaviour and misuse of Planet Football facilities.

    5. All players must show respect to opposing players, managers and referee by shaking hands (Thai Wai) after games, regardless of result of game.

    6. Teams should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their fixture kick off time. (only if agreed by Planet Football will teams be allowed to have a re-arranged kick off) If the opposition is not there by 5 minutes prior to the kick off time, the match will be declared a walkover. (strictly enforced)

    7. The duration of all matches during this cycle are as follows:

    • U9 & U10 – 20 mins each way (Played at Planet Football)
    • U12, U15 & U16 – 22 mins each way (Played at New Facility)

    Only 2 minutes for half time. Cup games will be given set times as and when they are arranged.

    8. Teams are allowed 1 minute for a warm up prior to their kick off. If Pitch 2 is available, then you will be allowed 15 minutes on half a pitch to warm up. This also applies to the new facility.

    9. All the team members must wear the same colour strip, with the exception of the goalkeeper. He/she must wear a colour that distinguishes him/her from the other outfield players and the referee.

    10. If a clash of colours occurs the second named team (away team) must wear bibs, which are available from the Planet Football Bar – these should be collected 5 mins prior to kick off.

    11. All kick offs must start with the ball making a full rotation and leave the center circle, before any player takes a shot. If players take a shot and scores without a full rotation of the ball, then no goal will be given.

    12. Teams can substitute players at any time, but only when the ball is out of play. Manager should contact the referee to confirm substitution. Players must come off first before any new player enters the field, if players fail to do this the referee will warn the manager and the new player on the pitch will receive a yellow card.

    13. SHIN PADS must be worn to provide a reasonable degree of protection and covered entirely by the socks. For safety reasons any player not wearing shin pads with long socks will not be allowed to play

    14. NO TWO-FOOTED tackles allowed, or any other tackle deemed violent by the referee. The referee has the right to send off any individual breaching this rule.

    15. When a free-kick or corner-kick is awarded, opponents must stand 2 meters away (6 strides or 10 strides if 9-A-Side) from the ball. They cannot move until the ball has been played. Players who move prior to this will be given a yellow card.

    16. If the penalty kick is awarded the player taking the penalty may take ONLY ONE STEP, before striking the ball. (This rule only applies in 6-A-Side & 7-A-Side competitions)

    17. During a penalty kick the Goalkeeper must be on his line, he can move sideways along the line, but cannot move forwards until the ball is struck.

    18. Opponents must stand two meters away (6 strides) from the thrower at throw-ins or behind the nearest opponent. Failure to do so will result in an indirect free kick to their opponents.

    19. The ball may be ‘passed back’ to the goalkeeper intentionally at any time during the match, but the goalkeeper CANNOT handle it. If the goalkeeper does handle it, the referee will award an indirect free-kick.

    20. If any player (not the goalkeeper) handles the ball inside the goal area stopping an obvious goal scoring opportunity the player will be sent off from the field of play and a penalty kick will be awarded. If the goalkeeper or any other player handles the ball intentionally outside the area, again stopping an obvious goal scoring opportunity, they will be given a yellow card or red card based on the referee’s interpretation of the incident.

    21. The goalkeeper is allowed to swap with another player, however this change must only be made at half time, unless for injury purposes and at the referees discretion. They cannot be swapped only for a penalty kick situation.

    22. (Cup ONLY) If a game goes to penalties – The goalkeeper playing during the final minutes of the match, is the ONLY player allowed in goal for the penalty shoot-out.

    23. Goalkeepers cannot kick the ball directly from their hand’s, they must either throw the ball, make a pass or bounce it before kicking. (This rules only applies to 6-A-Side & 7-A-Side competitions)

    24. Goalkeepers cannot score a goal direct from a goal-kick. However if it touches another player before entering the net, a goal will be given. If a touch is taken prior to the goal-kick (i.e. a set up kick) the ball must make a full rotation, before a goal is given.

    SECTION 2 – LEAGUE & DISCIPLINE

    25. Teams may have up to 12 registered players within their squad. Players can be replaced in the squad if they leave the team (i.e. move overseas) with a maximum of 3 players only. This is only allowed during the league season and not in the cups. The squad maximum is 15 players if 9-A-Side.

    26. Each week teams must confirm their 12 man team (From 12 player squad) for that day’s fixture by completing a team sheet, this should be collected from the office once you arrive and returned 10 minutes prior to the game starting. The referee will then check ID matches the team sheet prior to kick off.

    27. Players cannot play for more than ONE TEAM/CLUB in a season, they can only transfer prior to the start of a new league or at the end of the cup/league cycle. (regardless of age groups)

    28. ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE A MANAGER – teams can only register if they have a manager or representative (over 18 years old) who MUST attend all games. Managers/Assistants/Coaches must understand all rules and regulations. Games will be CANCELLED if there is no manager present and a win given to the opposing team.

    29. All teams must Pay a Deposit of 1’000 baht – This will be held by Planet Football until the end of the league & cup cycle. If any teams fail to attend without prior & adequate notice then they will lose their deposit. Retained deposits will be given to a local children’s charity and will not be kept by Planet Football. If teams wish to continue in the league then they must pay a 2nd deposit of 1’000 baht. A 2nd NO SHOW will result in the team losing their deposit and being removed from the league.

    30. New players can only be registered on the Saturday or Sunday prior to your next fixture, and can only play the following weekend after registration. Players will not be allowed to sign if they played for any other team in the same league, during that cycle.

    31. All players must have a national ID card or Passport. * NO other ID’s will be excepted * before they will be allowed to register.

    32. Once players are registered they will be given a Planet Football ID card – This must be kept by the team Manager/Coach and brought to each game. Prior to kick off managers are advised to check opposing teams cards, any issues should be reported to the referee or Planet Football staff.

    33. No Planet ID card – Players will not be allowed to play if they do not have their ID card prior to kick off. If a Planet ID card is lost, a charge of 50 Baht will apply to get a replacement. * Notification must be given 3 days prior to playing if a new card is required. – They will not be replaced on a match day *

    34. Planet football will contact all teams during the week (every week) prior to their schedule matches to confirm attendance. If you cannot be contacted before 9pm on the Friday before the game, then game will be cancelled. *Strictly Enforced*

    35. Mangers/Coaches/Players/Fans are not allowed to main office during matches, any issues must be raised prior to kick off or at the end of the day when all games have been concluded.

    36. NO new players can be registered prior or during a Cup Final.

    37. NO over age players or Un-registered players can be played at any time regardless of the result. Teams that defy these rules WILL Lose an additional 3 points from their league total. If it happens more than once the team will be removed from the League and lose their deposit. This rule also applies if teams do not attend league fixtures. (strictly enforced)

    38. There must be a minimum of 5 players (per team) on the field of play in order for the match to be played. This applies to 6-A-Side & 7-A-Side competitions, for 9-A-Side the minimum is 8 players. Teams will not be allowed to delay kick due to players not arriving on time. (strictly enforced)

    39. All teams should bring their own football’s for warm up’s, as Planet Football will not supply them to any other team other FC Planet Teams.

    40. All matches must be played on the date and time as stated on the original fixture list. No matches will be re-arranged/cancelled unless in exceptional circumstances. If you wish to re-arrange/cancel a fixture you must notify Planet Football 7 days prior to the game taking place.

    41. Under No circumstance will Planet Football re-arrange games, so that teams may play in other competitions during the league period.

    42. Coaches are advised to have a copy of the rules, registration forms and player ID cards on match days.

    43. Points will be awarded as follows:
    WIN = 3 points
    DRAW = 1 point
    LOSS = 0 points

    Any match deemed a WALKOVER, the winning team will get 3 points and plus 3 goals.
    (Losing team gets No points and minus 3 goals.)

    44. Points will be deducted as follows:
    MISS PLAYING A MATCH OR PLAYING UNREGISTERED OR OVER AGE PLAYERS = No points and minus 3 goals (from league total) – Plus lose an additional 3 points from points total.

    45. Positions within the Leagues will be calculated by:
    1. Number of points.
    2. Head to head (Result of the match between tying teams)
    3. Goal difference
    4. Number of wins overall.
    5. Total Goals scored.

    46. League tables and results will be displayed on the Planet Football website WWW.PATTAYAFOOTBALL.COM and FACEBOOK will be updated on regular basis.

    47. Teams are responsible for checking the results on the website/facebook/noticeboards and must inform the League Coordinators of any errors.

    48. Managers and squad players are the ONLY people allowed in the ‘dug-out’ or designated ‘technical area’, during game time. (1 manager & 6 substitutes MAXIMUM).

    49. NO OTHER TEAMS are allowed along the pitch side (on any pitches) whilst a game is being played. All non-playing teams and spectators should use the seating areas or stands provided.

    50. Managers should be aware and control their squad members whilst at Planet Football. Any failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.

    51. Managers are not allowed to make any agreements with each other without Planet Football’s knowledge. If any managers breaching this rule, their team will be deducted points.

    52. The Manager/Coach is responsible for the players and supporters associated to its team, and as such will be held accountable for any problems they cause. Should any problems arise, then the team will get points deducted or even banned from the league.

    53. Any Players or spectators that purposely damage any property belonging to Planet Football, will be required to pay for the repairs or replacement of such items.

    54. Planet Football will impose bans on any spectators, players or Managers who use abusive language, threatening behavior or Violence towards other spectators, players or managers.

    55. Managers or Players are NOT ALLOWED onto the field of play at ANY TIME, unless invited by the referee. (i.e due to an injury) Mangers/players will be disciplined by the referee for any breach of this rule. Planet Football will impose bans and point reductions as seen fit.

    56. Managers should not speak directly to any other team’s players. If there is a problem during a match, speak to the referee, opposing manager or Planet football staff.

    57. Managers sent to the stand will be treated and counted as a red card towards the team. If the manager refuses to leave the technical area/dug-out, the game will be granted a walkover to the non-offending team.

    58. NO FIGHTING at any time. This applies to ALL players, coaches, managers and spectators. Anyone breaking this rule will be banned for a set period of time seen fit by Planet Football. This rule also applies to issues that may occur outside the grounds of Planet Football Stadium.

    59. Any player/coach/manger shown a yellow or red card, will result in a penalty as imposed by these guidelines.

    2 Yellow cards during a game (red card) = 1game ban
    3 Yellow cards during a league season = 1 game ban
    5 Yellow cards during a league season = 2 game ban
    1 Red card during game = 1 game ban
    2 Red cards during a league season = 2 game ban
    3 Red cards during a league season = Discipline Hearing + agreed bans.

    Any team that gets 6 or more cards during a league cycle will lose 500 baht from there deposit – Yellow cards are classed as 1 card, but a red card is classed as 2 cards.

    **Planet Football reserve the right to impose additional bans based on the severity of the card which was issued at the time of the offence – This will be done during a disciplinary hearing**

    SECTION 3 – STADIUM

    60. NO METAL STUDDED FOOTWEAR maybe worn on any of the pitches at Planet Football. No studs of any kind to be worn in the Sports hall.

    61. CHEWING GUM IS BANNED FROM PLANET FOOTBALL – NO GUM allowed inside the stadium at any time. Especially whilst on the pitches or in the sports hall.

    62. NO leaning or sitting on nets surrounding the pitches.

    63. The area between pitches 1 and 2 is a seating area, no standing is allowed during games. This is so all spectators can comfortably view the matches.

    64. People who are intoxicated whilst on the premises, and are being offensive or aggressive towards other customers will be asked to leave.

    65. NO SMOKING inside the stadium grounds, especially in any of main spectator areas. If you wish to smoke please go outside or use outside bar area.

    66. NO GLASSES OR GLASS BOTTLES on or around the pitch during games. This does not apply to seating areas for spectators. For the safety of all, please return glass containers to the bar.

    67. NO DRUGS ALLOWED AT ANY TIME – Planet Football is strictly against the use of drugs and as such will report offends to the police and will ban them from Planet Football indefinitely. If in any way this affects Planet Football financially then the perpetrators will have to pay these costs.

    68. NO GAMBLING – Planet Football will not tolerate any gambling on its premises and will report any incidents to the Police. If in any way this affects Planet Football financially then the perpetrators will have to pay these costs.

    69. NO FIGHTING at any time. This applies to ALL players, coaches, managers and spectators. Anyone breaking this rule will be banned for a set period of time seen fit by Planet Football. Planet Football has the right to ban any perpetrators indefinitely and will in ALL cases report fighting to the Police. If in any way this affects Planet Football financially then the perpetrators will have to pay these costs.

    70. NO WEAPONS – Any individual that is believed to be in possession of any weapons whilst in the stadium or outside the perimeters will be reported to the Police immediately. Lifetime bans will be imposed on any such individual who breaks these rules.

    71. Planet Football WILL NOT tolerate, Abusive Language, Threatening Behavior or Violence, towards the referee, any players or any staff. Anyone in violation to this rule will be asked to leave and will be banned for a set period defined by the club.

If a pass is made it must leave the 18 yard box, before an outfield player touches it. If this happens inside the area, a retake of the Goal kick will be given. If done again a free kick will be given to the opposing team outside the box in the same area the offence took place.

    24. Goalkeepers cannot score a goal direct from a goal-kick. However if it touches another player before entering the net, a goal will be given.

    SECTION 2 – LEAGUE & DISCIPLINE

    25. Teams must pay their league fee’s either in advance of the league start in whole, or per fixture. If a team does not show for a fixture without prior & adequate notice they will be expected to pay the Fee for the missed fixture, plus they will lose their deposit.

    26. All teams must Pay a Deposit of 1’000 baht – This will be held by Planet Football until the end of the league & cup cycle. Retained deposits will be given to a local children’s charity and will not be kept by Planet Football. You can only lose your deposit by Not Showing for games, Card offence accumulation or any serious breach of league rules. If a team loses there deposit (none serious offenders) and wish to continue in the league then they must pay a 2nd deposit of 1’000 baht. A 2nd offence and loss of deposit will result in the team being removed from the league.

    27. Players cannot play for more than ONE TEAM/CLUB in a season, they can transfer prior to the start of the league and at the end of the league/cup cycle. (But if all other teams in the league are happy with the transfer happening during the cycle, then it may go ahead)

    28. Planet football will contact all teams during the week (every week) prior to their schedule matches to confirm attendance. If you cannot be contacted before 9pm on the Tuesday before the game, then game will be cancelled. *Strictly Enforced*

    29. Mangers/Coaches/Players/Fans are not allowed to main office during matches, any issues must be raised prior to kick off or at the end of the day when all games have been concluded.

    30. NO new players can be brought into a team for a Cup Final, if they have not played any previous cup games for the team.

    31. There must be a minimum of 5 players (per team) on the field of play in order for the match to be played. Teams will not be allowed to delay kick due to not enough players unless agreed by Planet football.

    32. Points will be awarded as follows:
