FC Planet came out of the blocks flying with an outstanding first half display of intricate passing and attacking force. From the kick off Planet’s sharp passing seen an opportunity fall to Alex who skied over the bar for what would have been goal of the season up to now after a great move including Eoin, Taylor and Nicky. It didn’t take long for Planet to open the scoring and once they did the flood gates opened on Sabai Dee who struggled to cope with Planets sharp passing play and went into half time losing 8-0. Goals coming from all areas of the pitch with Taylor, Alex and Eoin all scoring a brace each before Leo and Nicky got on the score sheet to give Planet a healthy lead. Planet were solid at the back with the steady head of Daniel Peebles moving the ball early into midfield alongside David and later on Daniel Grace. Planet made changes and the second half got underway with Joe in goal, Daniel Grace and David in defense, Leo, Eoin and Toto in the midfield with Nicky back up top. The home sides display was not as flowing as we had seen in the first half but were still far too powerful for Sabai Dee. Planet finding the net on another six occasions with goals coming from Alex, Leo and four goals from Nicky who had been clinical in front of goal all afternoon connecting well with Taylor and Alex on numerous occasions. Sabai Dee though kept on going and did manage a couple of goals themselves, first a penalty after a hand ball by Daniel G inside the area before Planet’s defense were caught flat footed, a long free kick falling in the box for the opposition striker to calmly took away unmarked giving a final score of 14-2 to the home side. Coach Mark says: What an outstanding first half display the team produced today, the intensity of their football was brilliant and I couldn’t ask for more in the early stages of the game. They moved the ball around at speed and Sabai Dee had no answer to the flowing football on show. The second half was not quite as pretty as the first after lots of changes but it’s good that everyone can get out there and share the time on the pitch. I thought everybody was excellent today and played their part in a great win, with plenty of people having stand out performances. Well done boys!
