FC Planet cruised past Home Mat on the final day of the season with a comfortable 12-0 victory. Planet started the game with an experimental line up with Toto and Robert coming into the starting seven and Daniel Peebles back in the centre midfield position. From the first whistle Planet dominated and were leading 5-0 at half time with both Toto and Eoin grabbing a brace, Robert also found the net with a good finish from Eoins cross. Planet introduced Taylor, Nicky and Alex for the second period and the latter Alex scoring five more goals for Planet to move him to joint top scorer in the league. Toto found the net again for his hatrick in a Planet shirt, getting on the end of Eoin’s through ball. Home Mat never looked like scoring and the game finished 12-0 after Robert nut megged the keeper from close range. Coach Marks says : The game was over by half time and the team were dominant through out. It was good to give some of the other boys a lot more time and the pitch and I thought Toto and Robert done really well after been given their chance. Over all the lads have had been involved in a number of impressive performances this season and played some fantastic football at times which am sure everyone will agree with. I think the defeat to Navy near the end of season will be a good lesson to the boys in terms of how they approach big games in the future, it’s the first defeat in the Planet league for a very long time and I know they didn’t enjoy it. Well done to all the players on a good season and look forward to the next.
